How many cats is too many cats?

My friends and I have had this conversation several times about how many cats a person can have in their dwelling.
Well now through the magic of math, we have a formula for deciding.

I propose:
Cat_max = ceil( (x - .5)^-2 + 2 )

where x is the number of people residing in the domicile.

So if you live alone, then you can have a maximum of six cats

with two people, you can have a maximum of 3 cats

Wifezilla and i have 3 cats.
It's just the right amount.
One craves attention, and is overly cuddly.
One is an antisocial freak that rarely is seen.
The third loves me and hates Wifezilla.

I think you need to factor in the size of wherever you live, too. Because if I'd had six cats in my last apartment, I would have gone crazy.
